Idea
Once you complete your CV, for example using the guidelines in 7 Rules to Write an Effective Resume, it could get even better if you have a recruiter to review your CV. Recruiters scan tens of CV's daily and have pretty good idea about what good CV should include and what should be left out. You can ask a recruiter to give you feedback on your CV at two occasions:
- When you contact a recruiter at the beginning of your job search. Ask the recruiter about general opinion about your CV and his/her suggestions for improvements.
- When a recruiter contacts you before putting you forward for a position. Ask a recruiter whether he/she has any suggestions to improve your CV to improve your chances to be invited for an interview. You might get both general ideas how to improve your CV and suggestions for enhancements specific to the position, for which he/she is putting you forward.
This should be a win-win situation. You will improve your CV while the recruiter is increasing his/her chance to get a commission for placing you at his/her client.
