Cleaning broken glass with sticky tape

Goal or Problem

The smallest pieces of broken glass are usually most difficult to find and clean up.

Idea

Use sticky tape to pick up any remaining small pieces of broken glass. There are sticky tapes various adhesiveness. Choose one that does not damage the surface that you need to clean up. You can use the same strip of tape several times until it stops being adhesive.

Limitations and Side Effects

This works well on smooth surfaces, such as tiles and laminate flooring. If there is broken glass on the carpet, you still face a challenge.

You can actually use the same

You can actually use the same principle i.e. use the sticky tape to clean textile surfaces (think clothes, sofa..) from cat hair. We have two cats at home and using a sticky tape proves a good method. You can actually buy a special roller with sticky tape for exactly this purpose (we get ours at IKEA).

Modelling clay

Another good alternative to clean up small pieces of broken glass is modelling clay. If sticky tape and modelling clay are not at hand, chewing gum could help, too.
